February: Flower of the month- Violet

Arranged by Hiroko Suzuki

At handling such short flowers as violets, simply wash soils off and take advantage of the root to gain height.

Cut away rootlets to fit the main root through the narrow mouth of the vessel. Not as a cut flower, but through doing away with unnecessary leaves and florets , the whole plant can be utilized in the arrangement.

Cherish the strength of life you find even in these minor plants and may the dogwood play its role of a sparkling light of spring.

Components of the arrangement : violet and dogwood branches
