Peony bears lovely flowers in spring, but its fruits have a totally different look in atmosphere. One can hardly imagine such a change of flowers that reminds you of a high-born maiden in a tower, so pure and innocent, into fruits looking so bold.

Japanese Buckthorn bears spikes of small flowers and has a willow like look. They are edible and made often into liqueurs. For its pliancy and toughness, branches are used in the old days to make horse whips.
