October: Arrangement for the month-Skunk vine

Arranged by Hiroko Suzuki

When autumn deepens,
while there are mountains gorgeously tinted in their full autumn glory and often expressed as
“brocade autumn”,
there are some fields ticking away time quietly and calm.
The latter resonates in one’s lonesome heart in the lengthening autumn nights.
Wouldn’t our thoughts be sent out to how through the ages plants have affected human hearts.

Components of the arrangement: Skunk vine, Japanese bush cranberry, green bristle grass
Vessel: “Thumb Print 5” by MATSUNAGA Keita
